Favorite radio memories: I remember this one Christmas at Alabama 100, Tommy Lee and I were waiting for Santa to Arrive at the Quintard mall. Tommy was adjusting his walkman and looking for the station. I had already found the station and was listening to the song end and warning Tommy we were about to go on. He was holding the cell phone (one of those old ones that was big as a suitcase) receiver with his knees while he adjusted his walkman. Then I hear Kim O’Brian start saying “Tommy and Randi are down at the quintard mall…..”and Tommy is still fiddling with his headphones….I panic because she’s going to throw it to us and the phone is still lodged between Tommy’s knees!! So of course she says, “lets see what’s going on” and I have no choice, so I bend over and start talking to Tommy Lee’s knees!! Tommy starts laughing uncontrollably, and people are looking at us both like we just robbed a bank. Quite embarrassing, but I saved the day!!
Favorite entertainers: Lee Ann Womack! I think she has the smoothest country voice in radio, and for the life of me can’t figure out why she doesn’t get given the hits. I also love Josh Turner and Trace Adkins….but I’ve always been a sucker for a great baritone voice!
Favorite new artists: John Stone, Charlie Allen, Little Big Town, Adam Hood, Jason Matthews
Favorite movies: A&E’s presentation of Pride and Predjudice! Also The Notebook, and anything starring Scott Chambers
Hobbies: Quilting!! Well let me rephrase that. I enjoy piecing tops for people I love. I usually take the quilts to be quilted elsewhere, but I love to make quilts because they are one size fits all. They are like giving a everlasting hug!
